Russia Sees 1.2 Percent GDP Growth in First Half of 2025
The Russian Ministry of Economic Development has estimated the growth at 1.2% year-over-year for the period, as reported by a local news agency.
In the second quarter of 2025, Russia's GDP increased by 1.1%, following a stronger 1.4% growth in the first quarter, based on preliminary data from the Federal State Statistics Service.
"The main factor behind the slowdown was weaker domestic demand, which was reflected in a notable easing of inflation – from a peak of 10.3 percent year on year in March to 8.55 percent as of August 11," the ministry told the news agency.
