(MENAFN) Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko stated that the visit of the top leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), Kim Jong Un, is still being planned, as reported by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Kim, who serves as the general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of State Affairs in the DPRK, is expected to visit Russia, with the specific dates to be coordinated through diplomatic channels, Rudenko said in an interview published Saturday on the ministry’s website.

Rudenko emphasized that regular high-level exchanges between the two countries play an important role in strengthening bilateral ties.

As of now, the DPRK has not issued any official comment regarding the proposed visit.
