LAS VEGAS, NV, UNITED STATES, April 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Construction on Midtown Las Vegas reached a major milestone this week as The Zlife Company development project officially starts its foundation work, marking a significant step forward for what is expected to become one of downtown’s most transformative hospitality and residential developments. Rising from the heart of the Las Vegas Arts District at 989 S 1st Street, the project—led by The Zlife Company developers Weina Zhang and Anna Olin—continues to advance on schedule and is poised to reshape both the skyline and the downtown urban living experience.

This pivotal construction phase has been funded in-part with All Western Mortgage Private Capital, while the project has also received approval for C-PACE Financing. This week’s activity underscores strong momentum for Midtown’s hospitality-focused master plan, anchored by two prominent mixed-use towers.

The development includes The English Hotel, a Tribute Portfolio Residence, one of the first Tribute Residences in North America. The private residences available for whole ownership are set to be located alongside the existing Tribute Portfolio Hotel, offering residents access to the full-service hotel’s amenities. Plans also include a separate Plaza Tower, an eight-story residential tower with 90% of available units already reserved. Designed for urban-style living, Plaza Tower will offer elevated services, curated amenities and modern design tailored to a new generation of downtown residents.

As crews continue focused groundwork, critical foundation work is being completed to support the project’s next phase of development. This progress is laying the structural base for future vertical construction, where luxury guest rooms, residential units, lobbies, amenity decks, and planned culinary and entertainment venues will begin to take shape. This phase represents a key step forward in advancing Midtown Las Vegas toward its vision as a hospitality-driven landmark in the downtown market.

Midtown is envisioned as a next-generation destination blending hotel-style living with immersive culinary, wellness and entertainment offerings. The master plan includes speakeasies, chef-driven restaurants, daily-use markets, specialty retail and a curated network of wellness and fitness spaces designed to foster a vibrant, walkable environment. Supported by electric vehicle share programs, smart mobility options and AI-integrated service robotics, Midtown embraces advanced technology to enhance operational efficiency and the guest experience. Sustainable building systems and green-centered design place the project at the forefront of modern mixed-use hospitality development.

“This phase of groundwork and utility installation is doing more than preparing a single project, it’s fundamentally upgrading the infrastructure for the entire Midtown vision. The coordination with our utility partners has been critical in designing not just for today, but for the long-term success of future phases. This is the kind of behind-the-scenes work that sets a district up to thrive,” says Anna Olin, founder of Midtown Las Vegas.
