WASHINGTON, DC, UNITED STATES, August 30, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Men’s Health Network (MHN) today announced its 2026 Prostate Cancer Awareness Month campaign, launching Tuesday, September 1, with the theme, “Partners in Care: Through Diagnosis. Through Treatment. Together.”

The September campaign will bring together prostate cancer education, awareness resources, community engagement, and support for men and families across the country. This year’s focus recognizes that prostate cancer extends beyond the individual diagnosed, often becoming a shared journey for spouses, partners, families, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and others who provide care and support.

As one of MHN’s three major annual awareness periods, Prostate Cancer Awareness Month provides an opportunity to reach men before diagnosis, support those currently facing prostate cancer, recognize survivors, and acknowledge the families and caregivers who walk alongside them.

The campaign also builds on MHN’s broader 2026 “Partners in Care” initiative, emphasizing the importance of connection and support throughout men’s health. For Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, that message follows the prostate cancer journey itself:

Through Diagnosis.
Through Treatment.
Together.

Prostate Cancer Remains a Major Men’s Health Concern
Prostate cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers among men in the United States, with approximately 1 in 8 men diagnosed during his lifetime.

Risk increases with age and family history, while Black men face higher incidence and mortality rates. Prostate cancer can also develop without noticeable symptoms, particularly in its earlier stages.

These realities make awareness and healthcare engagement important before a diagnosis. MHN encourages men to know their family health history, understand their individual risk, maintain regular healthcare visits, and talk with a healthcare provider about prostate health and screening.
For the many men who are diagnosed, prostate cancer can become a long-term health journey.

Some prostate cancers grow slowly, while others are more aggressive, and treatment and follow-up care vary depending on the individual and the characteristics of the cancer.

Many men live for years or decades after diagnosis, making treatment, recovery, survivorship, quality of life, and long-term health important parts of prostate cancer care.

“Prostate Cancer Awareness Month is a core anchor program at Men's Health Network. Bringing attention to this deadly disease helps us to save lives,” said Ronald Henry, President of Men’s Health Network. “The Lifespan Gender Gap can be closed if we work to reduce preventable deaths through early detection and treatment.”

Partners in Care Throughout the Prostate Cancer Journey
MHN’s 2026 campaign expands the conversation beyond awareness and screening to recognize what happens after a man hears the words “prostate cancer.”

A diagnosis can bring questions about treatment options, potential side effects, recovery, work, relationships, sexual and urinary health, emotional well-being, and long-term health. Men may need to process significant amounts of information and make important healthcare decisions in a relatively short period of time.

They often do not make those decisions alone.

Partners, family members, friends, caregivers, and healthcare professionals may attend appointments, help understand treatment information, provide transportation, manage responsibilities at home, offer emotional support, and help men adjust to changes during treatment and recovery.

Caregivers and loved ones are also affected. Prostate cancer can change family routines, responsibilities, relationships, and daily life. Supporting the people surrounding a man with prostate cancer is therefore an important part of supporting the man himself.

The campaign carries that focus through survivorship as well. Follow-up care, monitoring, treatment side effects, sexual and urinary health, emotional well-being, relationships, and overall wellness may remain important long after initial treatment.

How to Support Prostate Cancer Awareness Month
Throughout September, MHN encourages individuals, families, employers, healthcare organizations, community groups, faith communities, advocates, and other partners to participate in the campaign.

Ways to support Prostate Cancer Awareness Month include:
• Share trusted information about prostate cancer risk, screening, diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and survivorship.
• Encourage men to know their family health history, understand their individual risk, and discuss prostate health with a healthcare provider.
• Host a prostate cancer awareness event, health fair, educational program, survivor discussion, workplace activity, or fundraiser.
• Wear Blue in support of men affected by prostate cancer and the families and caregivers who stand beside them.
• Support someone navigating prostate cancer by checking in, listening, providing transportation or meals, attending appointments when invited, or helping with everyday responsibilities.
• Recognize caregivers and ask how they are doing. Supporting men with prostate cancer also means supporting the loved ones and caregivers who walk alongside them.
• Invite survivors, caregivers, partners, and healthcare professionals to share their experiences and help others feel supported and less alone.
• Support MHN’s year-round work to improve the health and well-being of men, boys, and their families.

2026 Prostate Cancer Awareness Month Toolkit
To support the campaign, Men’s Health Network has released its 2026 Prostate Cancer Awareness Month Digital Media Toolkit for individuals, employers, healthcare professionals, community organizations, advocates, and other partners.

The toolkit provides ready-to-use information and resources covering prostate cancer awareness, the prostate cancer journey, support for families and caregivers, community engagement, Wear Blue activities, social media, proclamation language, newsletter and blog content, and other materials organizations can use throughout September.

The resources are designed to make participation accessible for organizations of all sizes and help bring prostate cancer education and support into workplaces, neighborhoods, healthcare settings, faith communities, and other places where men and families gather.

MHN also encourages organizations and individuals to use September as an opportunity to recognize prostate cancer survivors and caregivers, share their experiences when appropriate, and help connect men and families with trusted information and resources.

A Month of Awareness, Support, and Action
Prostate Cancer Awareness Month remains an opportunity to encourage early detection and informed healthcare engagement, but the 2026 campaign emphasizes that the need for awareness and support does not stop with a diagnosis.

It continues through treatment.
It continues through recovery.
It continues into survivorship.

Whether someone is encouraging a man to speak with his healthcare provider, accompanying a loved one to an appointment, helping a family during treatment, supporting a caregiver, or simply checking in on a survivor, each action contributes to a stronger network of care.

This September, Men’s Health Network invites individuals and organizations nationwide to join the 2026 Prostate Cancer Awareness Month campaign and stand alongside the men and families affected by prostate cancer.
