Manatee County EMS Earns National Recognition for Lifesaving Heart Attack and Stroke Care
When someone experiences a heart attack or stroke, every minute matters.
Over the past year, Manatee County EMS responded to more than 3,300 chest pain calls, 650 cardiac arrests and 1,700 stroke-related emergencies. That's why Manatee County EMS is proud to announce it has earned the American Heart Association's Mission: Lifeline EMS Gold Achievement Award for the second consecutive year, recognizing the agency's commitment to providing high-quality emergency care for patients experiencing these life-threatening medical emergencies.
From the moment a 911 call is received, Manatee County EMS paramedics and EMTs begin critical treatment in the field. They assess patients, perform diagnostic testing, notify the receiving hospital and help ensure the appropriate medical team is ready before the ambulance arrives. Those early interventions can save valuable time when every second counts.
"Receiving this recognition for a second consecutive year reflects the dedication of our EMS professionals and their commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality care every day," said EMS Chief Sean Dwyer. "Our team is committed to providing the best possible care to our residents and visitors during some of the most critical moments of their lives."
The Mission: Lifeline EMS recognition program honors emergency medical services agencies that consistently meet national standards for the rapid assessment, treatment and coordination of care for patients experiencing heart attacks and strokes. The program recognizes agencies that work closely with hospitals to help patients receive timely, evidence-based care.
Why Calling 911 Matters
