SW Sustainability Solutions Announces Customer Refund Initiative for Applicable IEEPA Tariff Charges
SW expects to substantially complete the customer refund process by September 15, with all applicable refunds or credits targeted for completion no later than September 30, 2026.
During the period affected by IEEPA-related tariffs, SW did not pass the full tariff impact through across all of its products. Instead, the company absorbed a portion of the additional costs as part of its broader commitment to providing customers with greater price, value, and supply stability.
With applicable tariff circumstances changing, SW believes those values should extend to how the company handles charges already collected from customers.
“Transparency means more than explaining a price increase—it also means doing the right thing when circumstances change,” said Belle Chou, President of SW Sustainability Solutions. “We did not pass the full tariff burden on to our customers, and where customers are eligible for a refund of tariff charges, we want to return those funds promptly. That is the kind of long-term partnership we believe in.”
The initiative reflects SW's broader approach as a Certified B Corporation, balancing business performance with accountability to customers, employees, communities, and the environment.
SW's SmartShield program was developed to provide participating customers with greater predictability and protection against market volatility. For purchases outside the SmartShield program, SW will work with distribution partners to identify eligible transactions and determine the appropriate credits or refunds.
The company expects the process to begin September 1 and has established an internal goal of completing refunds by September 15, with September 30 as the final target for completion.
